Dealing with Holiday Stress

Dealing with Holiday Stress

With the Holidays now so near, some of us will panic once we realize how much we still have to do. Stress can be a very harmful condition that causes great disruption to many of your body’s systems. Many entrepreneurs and business owners have to deal with stressful situations every day. But so do housewives and 9-to-5 workers. In fact, there doesn’t seem to be a category of professionals that have to deal with more stress than others. You may simply have a job, a spouse, and two children to care for and encounter excessive stress on a regular basis.

Some people have the type of emotional and mental makeup that causes them to freak out more than others over ordinary situations. Though much research has been done to try and learn why certain people deal with stress better than others, the answers can be so varied that it’s hard to pin down the true culprit here.

 Causes of Stress

Certain personalities seem to cause their own stress simply by expecting too much of themselves. Women with families are especially susceptible to this. In our society we tend to think that a woman should be able to work a 9-to-5 job, come home, make dinner, get the kids ready for bed and still have energy to do a load of laundry. Though you may be able to do this for a short amount of time, you will eventually become so physically and mentally worn out that you can no longer function.

 Stressful Jobs

Very often we find stress is related to the job. You may have a boss who makes life miserable for you. Unfortunately we’ve all had similar situations where the boss was a downright jerk, but we needed the job so we just put up with it. In many cases it is possible to discover the causes of your stress and eliminate some of them. In other cases you may simply need to work on stress management. Today there are many helpful courses online and these can help you identify the areas that are most stressful and formulate a plan to better deal with them.

Meditating is an age-old well proven remedy for stress. Take some time in the morning or evening to just relax and meditate on things that make you feel better. If you have a hobby, spend a few moments each day working on that. If you have tight muscles in your neck and back, then the Atlanta Spine Center can help. Chiropractic adjustments and massage are both well proven ways to alleviate all those tight muscles in your back. Please call us to schedule your next appointment.
